Thanks to Mr dgr's diligent searching, ^^^ that is the illusive fellro86 article.

As for the J.C.Whitney sending-unit, it would appear that they value them at about $30-bucks more than the $16 that I paid when I got mine.

Be sure to make positive-sure of the ohms business before spending your money; but, that second down from the top Datcom unit looks awfully familiar.

For all practical purposes, any generic sending-unit, be it Sunpro, Datcom, or whatever, can be made work, SO LONG as the ohms-resistance values are in agreement with our dash-gauge.

For that matter, if one uses a Sunpro sending-unit AND also a Sunpro gauge, instead of the factory gauge,then one can be assured of success.

I have had good results using Sunpro gauges/senders in various applications, including my big auxilliary tank, which has a dedicated gauge of it's own.

It appears that Mr dgr has done all of our homework for us.
