Its not going to be easy especially without being somewhere with time and tools.
Not to mention more then likely on a turbo idi, you are going to have "bigger" injectors, turned up IP if not an actual "bigger" IP, etc. Obviously being mechanical it isn't as simple as just loading in a new tune to fix those issues. So to answer your question if you can just disconnect and go; no not really.
Like stated already, the NA idi is going to be the best way to go for this scenario hands down.

Actually all the techs I spoke to do work on these for a living accept one who quit Ford after the pay cuts came through. He bought a 6.4 but would rather have a 7.3 PS.
Is a Turbo IDI a little more complicated over a NA IDI or alot and are the Turbo's themselves easily rebuilt?
