Truck is '94 IDI Factory Turbo.
Here is a picture of oil tee on top of turbo with my leak shown:
http://i53.tinypic.com/34ffbls.jpg

RH side of tee is sender for oil pressure gauge, LH side of tee is turbo oil supply inlet which as you can see is seeping oil. I've been told this is a very bad seal to have finally fail.

What kind of fitting is this? Haven't touched it yet because this is my daily driver right now and I don't want to mess with the leak till I have parts.

I have IH P/N 1819772-C1 which they are saying is "turbo oil inlet connector assembly" or something which I assume would come with the new seal in it.

Got Ford to verify this as correct part but it is obsolete from Ford, has to come from IH.

My question is will R&R be simple after getting this "connector assembly" from IH or is it some kind of flare fitting and will fixing the leak be more of a pain?

Thanks.

Thats just a simple compression fitting. All you probably need to do is tighten it up but.... Only attempt this with caution. You can over tighten these fittings. Try to use two wrenches. Use one to backup the side thats threaded into the manifold on top. It will be a close fit with the wrench. You will know if the fitting is loose too. This really isn't a big leak but I'm sure its an issue you want to fix cause it bugs you. Most members here are the same way about fixing a bothersome leak...:sly

What a sweet piece o crap that fitting is.. No way should it be a rubber o-ring on that much oil pressure. Well.... I learned something again today... Thats calvin. I would never have thought that was such a bad fitting like that. No amount of tightening will stop a leak. Just need to replace the square o-ring thingy...:sly

yeah I talked to IH and they said the connector assy does not come with seal. he looked up the connector and gave me p/n for just the seal. i can post it if anybody's interested.

Anything else to know when replacing this seal? The oil line won't be under a lot of pressure will it? Need to avoid burns and oil loss etc.

Yes... That oil feed line will have the same pressure as the rest of the motor oil pressure. You wont get burned or loose any oil if you replace the o-ring with the motor turned off and cold. Use a dental pick to get the now hardened seal out of the line nut.. Go easy and don't tuin the brass nut. Then just press the new seal over the line and tighten... Hopefully thats all there is to it... Calvin will know better than me... I don't run the factory turbos but run the Banks sidewinder wastegated type... They have an aircraft style stainless steel supply hose for the turbos...

i was thinking of pulling that stupid fitting off(mines seeping also) and puting a compression fitting in there as long as that pipe is the same size as the fittings.
