Intro post for me. Bought my first diesel 4 years ago; 89 Clubwagon that sat in a yard in Fairbanks AK for 12 years. With no rust and a Dana 60 front axle I wasn’t going to pass.
Since then I feel like I’ve got most the quirks out. After endless e40d issues and a shop robbing me blind I swapped it to a zf5. I also blew up the first engine I think because of a neglected CDR valve so it has a reman in it. I think the only original part in it is the starter. Learning learning learning on this beast. I now also have a 96 OBS PSD I use for work.

Great van! I really like the ZF5 swap. I have a '91 E350 I would like to do that to.

How’s the foot space with 3-pedals and size 13’s?

In my 5-spd swapped Passat TDI wagon, I have to drive with my snow boots removed.

Love the van, nice find!!
