Well I recently picked up a 85 f250 with the 6.9 it ran ok first few dAys I had it then it started missing had a lack of power and there was a weird noise coming from the intake I took an inferred thermometer to the exhaust manifolds and discover that two of the cylinders were colder than the rest so I went to the junk yard to pick up some injectors just to try them out I replaced the two injectors and also did a return line kit and nothing changed possibly got worse so I went back to the junk yard and pulled the injection pump and swapped it out and now it doesn't even start it doesn't get any kinda fuel out of the pump i know my lift Pump is good but I don't know what else to try I'm really starting to loose hope I mean I know there is a good chance that the PumP I got from the junk yard is bad but I would think it would still spit a little fuel I don't even get a droP out of it
Hopefully this starting issue is something simple like a wire not really connected on the pump for power. As for actually seeing fuel come out the injector lines.. Nope.. You will not see that. At cranking speeds almost nothing is dripping out the lines. These engines drink very small amounts of fuel during cranking and idle settings. Thats why we recommend to hold the throttle wide open when bleeding air and fuel from the system. Its pushes more fuel per rpm at cranking speeds.
