Is there any shop that specializes in rebuilding these units. I just picked up a complete setup for my 7.3 IDI and the turbo seems to be tight. I would just as soon send it out to be checked and or rebuilt. I am in SO FL and I have not found any shops that know what I want. Does anyone have a complete set of installation instructions that I could purchase? I am just wondering if I am missing any parts? Thank you.

Contact Hypermax, and they will gladly email or fax you a set. They have top shelf customer support, and don't mind helping out with stuff they didn't sell you. The turbo itself is nothing unique to them, so any turbo shop should be qualified to look at it. If you can't find one near you, you can send it to me and I can have my shop (same one that does my Moose Products) check it out for you.

Agnem I will contact Hypermax mon and check on instructions so I can see what parts if any are missing. If you could send me the name and address of your shop I would appreciate it. [email protected]. We have very few shops in my area that do much repair work. I had the turbos on my 337 rebuilt in Vero Beach FL but they went out of business. Thank you for the info.

You can rebuild your own turbo if you have patience and the right parts. Rebuild kits include most everything you need except I would probably replace the turbine just to be safe. Make sure everything is squeaky clean upon reassembly and your fine. Then just have a diesel shop balnce it for you when your done.
