Honestly Hypermax, Banks and ATS all had to contend with Not blowing ***** up..not good for sales so mild gains albeit gains none the less where made. As these trucks a d engines where new when the kits came out there wasnt a through caution to the wind approach. These major players had to be able to have repeata le results to make sales.
The turbos of the era are different than what we have available now. Hexk guys are pi king up used or rmanned units and doing some pretty kewl custom stuff.
Also no one had big pu.ps or a cam back then...now we do. Thus considerable torque can be had for ones willing to take the plunge.
