how to turn up boost on factory turbo 7.3 idi

Hello everyone I was informed there is a way to turn up the boost on a factory 7.3 idi turbo but i could not find any post about it on the forums could anyone help

Getting away from the restrictive factory intake and exhaust help too.

A smaller aka 'quickspool' exhaust housing on the turbo will make more boost, and sooner. I almost pulled the trigger on that when I had a powerstroke. That's also the recipe dodge/cummins used to make more boost on the "2ndgen" ('94+) trucks.

i always thought the longer rod would open the waste gate sooner thus decreasing turbo boost potential?
