how rare is a 4wd obs superduty?

i was test driving a vehicle the other day and went down an alley, and saw a obs F-superduty that was 4wd. didnt know they made them but it did have 10-lug frt and rear wheels. does anyone know what the story is on this?

Probably custom done, I am pretty sure they didnt make them in the obs.
You got a good look at it, ya sure they didnt just swap emblems lol
Pretty sure 10 lug is a dana 80 if I am not mistaken.

no 4wd F450's EVER came from the factory from 88-97. most of the custom conversions was done by Marmon-Herrington. A few others was done by smaller refitters. M-H used their own converted D60 front axles, while other refitters used their own hub adapters.

There's one running around by me. 91 I believe with a 7.3 and a banks turbo
Sits on 38 military tires.

What's odd about it is it has what appears to be a passenger side drop tcase and front axle that is about the same size as a dana60. I keep meaning to stop and look at it but haven't had time.

ya there were a few swap companies doing jobs for iol rig type work. the common way is a d70 front but there are other swaps out there. they are rare as the blue elephant.
