hey ive got a question for u guys, i have a ats non waste gated turbo im puttin on a 86 6.9 with new internals and lowered compression to 19.5:1 and im gona stud the heads with copper plated head gaskets ip turned up 2 meybe 3 flats, ill have all the gauges for it hooked up and im running a completely built c6 transmission with built t case for the truck and my axles are geared at 5:13s with lockers, wat kind of pull power can i expect from this set up? should i do anything different to build a reliable pull truck?

The 5.13 gears will actully hurt you in a truck pull 4.10are all u need the point in a truck pull it to build ur speed up before the weight hits the to of the sled an u lose traction ill have plenty of torque with 4.10 gears ur only thing will be keepin th power on the ground which mean a good set of tires an a way to hang weights on the front of ur truck

Yah u will be way happier with the4.10 gears if ur driving it every day a few and what size rim are the 36s if they are the 16.5 not sound like an ass there no good for pulling when u pull ur gonna wan drop ur tire psi to 12 to 15 lbs the 16.5 rims for whatever reason have a problem when u air them down they like to come off the rim again not trying to knock u down just wana help u out seeing I'm in the same boat as u as trying to build an idi truck that will be competitive at the pulls yet take u down the road every day

I'm running the 37" goodyear radial 16.5. Granted i'm not sled pulling but my truck pulls real nice with the ats 088 and a almost maxed out injector pump. Have **** injection to keep the egt's in check as if i keep my foot in it otherwise i can melt this motor down easily. Need to install an intercooler bad.

Id say No in a heartbeat to anything from DPS. Just get a good ole set of Delphi BBs and you will be fine. Maximum pull will be a 4spd with 4.10s. replace the 208 with a 205. Have Truck parts specialists in Memphis on Brooks Rd replace your standard u joints with a 1410 u joint setup. If you dont want to be snapping axles go up to a 5 ton rockwell that allows you to get any gear ratio from 3.73 - 11.85. They are cheap and easy to find. Since most mudders want the 2 1/2 tons(only come in 6.44). Also the military oz tires are pretty much crap. We have air force security forces up here that are always stuck on the old oz's and the wrangler mt 37s. I actually had pretty good luck running a good super swamper. like the irok or the trxus for great traction.

On our trucks the weak link is the transfer case (208/1356) just cant handle the strain. nor can the dinky 434 u joints. Also since you are running a 4spd. Contact Laycook Products in Memphis as well. I think they are on Butler. Its down near the Fedex forum. They can build you a carbide ceramic clutch with heavy pressure plate or iron ceramic clutch for under $300 rebuilding your disc and pressure plate. Also includes a throwout bearing made by them. You will never burn a clutch out.

I have grossed a little over 40k behind my IDI and I gross around 37,000lbs DAILY and she never misses a beat. I will be in Memphis at the end of August for a week if you need any help I will be in the area. I grew up in the Mason area.

Go to Signaturefuel.com or call them (406) 255-0858 he should be able to modify the BB codes for you. DPS had some crappy customer service to me. I dont pull often with my F250s. Last time I went 254.03 with my 85. It was fun, but Ill stick it to my scrapping duties. Thinking bout taking my 5 ton 6x6 to the sled pulls next time. :D

yess the inner cooler helps ur egts big time and allows ur engine to breatcolder air which means more power its like night and day with and without one
