How do I stop the crank from spinning?

How do I stop the crank from spinning? I need to remove the harmonic balancer and cant get the bolt loose. Is it righty tighty lefty loosey? Thanks again.

An impact is your friend! They will bring them right loose. And yes, all the ones I've been into were right hand thread...or lefty loosey as you put it!

There is thread locker on the bolt, yes lefty loose. Impact is the only way, other than a chain vice grips on the damper.

I had to make my own tool to stop the pully from moving. I will post pick's later. Thanks for all your help.
