After reading up on this engine, a good consenus of folks strongly believe that the reason why it rolls from 399,000 to 300,000 is I-H & ford didnt have a strong sense of this motors capability or short sightedness due to Ford taking over the motors production...in any event, the low cost of replacement parts just blew me away...my ultimate target is to return this vehicle to original showroom condition..(save the 2inch lift kit) im probably 5-6 grand away from that goal..probably a little longer in calendar time due to not wanting to paint this prior to a New England winter....even though its getting 3 layers of clear coat....
