Yeppers they do work better that way. Glad it was that easy. I wonder if it was pulled loose back when you timed it? It was hot then and probably wasn't needed but now that it's cooler you noticed it.

Thanks, fellas. mine hasn't worked since reassembly after head gaskets, IP replacement, etc. this'll head me in the right direction.

Yep, helps it work when it's actually plugged in lol. Or just put them on a toggle so you can have high idle whenever you want it.

no I unplugged it when replacing a few glow plugs apparently, that was when it quit working,

Ah I see. That little harness is in the way of more than a few things.
