Help Me!! Stuck injector!

Sorry you had so much "fun" doing this job.... I have an injector seat reamer you could have used to clean out the bores and cut a new seat surface in the head. But thats how it goes. Did you torque them down to 35 lbs???

The truck has always run pretty good, at least as far as I could tell. It just never felt as powerful as everyone says there truck is. I'm hoping this will make the truck a bit more spirited and produce a few more ponies on the dyno in may.

Got an appointment for wednesday to get my timing done. I made sure they use the equipment, first place I called said they just do it by ear.

This is more important than a lot of people realize I think. Too much torque, and you'll deform the washer and it won't work. Too little, and you will get blow by. Use a good CALIBRATED torque wrench for good sucess each time.

You want my old injectors? They aren't pretty, at least the 2 I had to slide hammer out. They are D codes and the truck ran fine with them, I just felt it was time for new ones. If you really want them, send me a PM and we'll work something out.

That makes sense, 35ft-lbs didn't seem like much as I checked 2 books just in case. I guess there's a good reason.

Where did you get your injectors and where are you getting your timing set? Im getting ready to do the same to my truck.

I got my injectors from Russ(typ4) on this forum. I am going to Diesel Injection Service down on Federal Way to get the timing done.

I was told $80, and most seemed to agree that was a fair price. I will let you know how it went when I get my truck back.

Yeah, thats about right for an hours labor. Id like to know where mine is at, but it seems just about right as it is.
