Help Me!! Stuck injector!

I'm trying to change my injectors, 4 hours later I have only gotten 1 out. I am trying to remove a stuck one. It unscrewed, came to the top enough that I can see the first few threads but wont come any further. It wont screw back down either.

Injector bore all coked up.
do you have a can of Kroil or PB blaster?
spray the thread down to loosen up the carbon.
also, remove the glow plug to prevent hydrolocking when you blow out the oil later.
keep soaking down the injector until it comes out.
if it does seperate, take the top half out and grind off the threads where it screws into the head and screw back in to pick up the bottom half.
mucho violence needed

I been soaking it(PB blaster), letting it sit now. It seems like it is unthreaded all the way as it spins in both directions, but wont go up or down.

The slide hammer got it out, lots of crusty crap on it. Now how do I get the copper ring out? It appears to be quite stuck to the bottom of the hole.

get a good pick tool and start digging.
for cleaning, a 12ga shotgun bore brush and lots of oil to clean out the stuff.
you will have crud fall into the cyls, accept it as a fact and keep cleaning.

Find a shopvac and work right in the suction. Do not drop your tool.

i am sure glad that mine were not that bad. i think mine took 4 hours start to finish, including the return lines.....

I have only removed 3 injectors so far, 2 of them required the slide hammer and I still have 2 copper washers to retrieve. This is getting really stupid.

The last 5 came out with no fight, thank god for small miracles. I went and got a shotgun cleaning kit to clean out the holes. Still haven't removed the washers yet, but I plan to finish one side of the motor tonight.

12.5 hours later, I am done. Luckily I had recently purchased a pick set which came in real handy for cleaning out those two injector bores. They both had completely filled all the open space with soot and fuel. I taped a small rubber hose to the end of my shop vac to get the chunks out. The gun kit was real handy as well, using the wire brush and fuzzy brushes to get them clean.

The truck fired right up and ran smoothly. Since the injectors are new, they will cause my timing to be slightly retarded right? I didn't notice any excessive smoke. Tommorrow I will make an appointment to get my timing checked/reset.

I'm also curious as to the condition of my old injectors. The truck had sat for the last 2 days, but I ran it for about 1 minute to move it into the garage. One injector was dry, but the rest came out soaked in diesel. Does this mean they were just wizzing fuel instead of spraying?
