HELP! Clutch won't fully disengage!

I drove my "new" '85 arround town today and am learning about it the worst problem so far is that the clutch won't fully disengage and my first inclination was either master or slave cylinder, but wasn't sure if anyone had any other ideas/input, that is the only problem it has that interferes with drivibility.

make sure your clutch pedal bushings are OK. Ie.....no wiggle or slop on the pedal tubes in relation to the aluminum bracket whatsoever.

Check in the tech section for a good tech article on a clutch pedal mod if the bushings are gone and/or worn.

Mine had a difficult time going into reverse and 1st at a standstill.

that mod is a good thing. It keeps the wearout of the bushings and/or the bracket from happening so soon. But I have to stress that it is no patch if the bushings are worn out.
