Just wanted to introduce myself here. My name is Bryce Burden. I'm a full-time mechanic and love the 6.9 and 7.3 IDIs. My daily driver is an 83 F350 Single Cab lwb dually with a flatbed set up as a winch truck, 6.9L diesel, C6 automatic. Some of you already know me from the IDI Owners Group over on Facebook, as that is where I learned about this sight. For those who don't know me, looking forward to getting to know you and sharing what I know as well as learning more new things from everyone else here.

We don't feel a question is dumb but some members have been known to make not so smart mistakes on their engines. This is a great group of owners that have the same thing in common. We like what we drive....

Yes the 6.0L was a mess all the way around. Thats when I finally decided to upgrade from an old IDI to a PowerStroke for my ranch truck I went with the 02 7.3, I had been thinking about the 6.0 for a long time until I went to work at this shop and seems like thats all we ever work on. I too have made some dumb mistakes with my engines, both my 6.9s as well as a few GM 6.2s (another favorite diesel of mine), but I usually try to learn from my mistakes and not do that again. I just sold an 84 model that was one of my first ones, blew the motor up shortly after I bought it, had put a turbo on it and buddy turned the pump way up, I got on it pretty hard and needless to say we made BIG BOOM but I learned real quick not to do that again.

Yes, and just worked out a trade of my 59 Ford for another 6.2 as well, I have owned several of both and never really had a desire for a newer one, the 02 was bought mainly as a tax writeoff for the farm last year
