the relay kit makes a huge difference also if external regulated get an adjustable reg and turn it to 14.5 volts, the 3g is already set there..I used to blow bulbs all the time till I turned up the volts, halogens like to be hot.

Hey Russ,
I go through halogens like nobody's business, do you happen to have a p/n for this adjustable regulator or a manufacturer?

With my stock wiring and stock headlamp, I have not blow a bulb in about 50,000miles, and I do a lot of night driving and it has a stock regulator. I guess they must not be halogens.

Put my LMC kit in today.

Everything went great, and lights worked as they should. Except when my key is on and the running lights should be on (headlights off), the high beams are on instead of the running lights. What gives?

So I just shorted out the parking brake switch for now to cancel my running lights and im driving it that way.

It kind of sounds like you got a kit that was wired wrong. Were your lights working correctly before? If they were, then they should be working the same with the kit plugged in unless someone wired that kit backwards. Might have to send that one back.

Everything worked great before. And they work great with the kit as long as the running lights aren't energized.

Another thing it did was when I turned the key on, (running lights energized) one of the relays started vibrating like mad, partly because it was not yet bolted to the inner fender but still, there must have been a lot of power going through it.

I am kinda reluctant to send it back as it took forever to get here, maybe I will just keep running without the running lights.

Well, if you are reluctant to send it back, another option would be to order a couple of waterproof relays and harnesses so you can easily wire them in to the LMC harness with some blade connectors and figure out the correct wiring to the bosch relay from teh LMC harness and go from there and just leave it. Eventually , when the LMC relays go bad, you are going to have to do that anyway , as those relays that come with it are unobtanium and they are not waterproof. After I had to do the first one that died, I keep spares wired up in the glove box.

I notice you're in Canada, maybe having daytime running lights has something to do with it. Our vehicles down here didn't have them until fairly recently, the kit might not be compatible.

Have a feeling you have the wrong bulbs. The 9004 and 9007 look identical but are wired differently. That is, if I comprehended the issue fully. Hard to read on a cellphone

I am in Canada and that makes total sense about the running light issue and not having them in the U.S, in 1990 that is. Im convinced that is issue. I will just contine driving with my e-brake switch shorted out to cancel the running lights.

Im assuming that this won't screw anything up.....:dunno
