ok so i called Peter at south bend clutch today to get a 12 incher for my truck comes with heavy duty friction plates and kevlar pilot bearing. Peter said it would be 198bucks.... so i kinda said can you tell me the price on that again?? and he said 198 sir and i said give me one so i ordered it and it will be in soon before i put my 7.3 in! well im using my 6.9 flywheel and parts from the 6.9 im taking out im wondering if there is anything i should be aware of during the process of using the borg warner t-19b tranny on a 7.3? should bolt right up shouldnt it??

I've been running a T19 behind my 7.3 for over 5 years with no issues. It simply bolts in (but, you gotta use the 6.9's flywheel). I'm also running a SBC on my rig as well.

yah i love the t19 in my truck i wouldnt trade it for a five speed any day

The only thing I wouldn't like about a T-19 is the lak of OD, unless i get a GV over/underdrive

well yah thats the only thing that sucks but i drive 200 miles a week back and forth to diesel tech school and drivin 70 at 2200 rpm it gets around 15mpg which it doesnt bother me it runs great. i just have had good luck with 4 speeds 5 speeds seem to hate me lol

If that clutch is specked to run in a 7.3 5speed, I think you will not be able to run it with the t19 and 6.9l flywheel. The bolt pattern is different on the 6.9 flywheel then the 7.3l flywheel. The disc will have the bigger hole in it for the larger shaft of the 5 speed also. You may find this is the case, I have not seen a 12" clutch for the t19 6.9l application. I could be wrong, but I may not be. I hope he sold you what you really needed.

i ordered the clutch for the 6.9 flywheel im taking the flywheel off my 6.9 and putting it on my 7.3 and using my 4 speed everything should bolt up accordingly.

my truck has a 12 inch south bend in it right now and i paid almost 300 bucks 4 years ago and the price has dropped on them finally!! they do make them.

I have a Luk 12" in my truck, forget what I ran me though....

My 12" SBC ran me $375 shipped, but he told me it was good for about 375 HP at the wheels

Luk part number is 07-065 for the 12 inch. I have one in my 87 and it has never given me a lick of trouble. I paid 160 for it through Pep Boys many years ago. I just checked and they list for 199 there now.

Big blue your T19 would get you 17 if you could stay down at 60 mph I bet. But you already knew that. How about a brownie behind it? That's what I'm doing just as soon as I have the cash, the time and maybe something to drive for a couple of weeks while I put it in and work out the bugs. Thanks for the heads up.

The Moose Truck came from the factory with a 12" clutch, and a 3 finger weighted presure plate. Everything since then seems like a downgrade.
