When my truck is idleing and i rev it, it will sound like a normal big block up to about 3K then the noise drops off, it will go a few hundred more to maybe 3400 but it wont be loud.

And while im driving, it wont go over 3500. @ 3500 im at about 85 mph so its not like its an issue. Im just wondering if its the governer or in both situations, if im just hitting the limits of the fuel system.

A un touched pump usually wont rev much over 3300 some as low as 2800(I-H specs) and as high as 3800, mine thats another story i can achive some pretty scary RPM but my pump is touched

If u have 3:55 gears somethings up if ur turning 3500 rpm at 85. My old f350 would run 100 turning 2900 rpms and it had 4:10s but maybe that's the difference between auto and 5 speed

I definitely keep up my maitnence. Im actually keeping a journal since i bought it of every thing i do to it so if i ever sell it, it will have complete record back to 93,000 miles on it. It still only has 95,000 now = )

265's are the same height more or less, a little wider then the 235's though. Your not going to gain any speed. Go to 255/85R16's if you want a taller tire, they are 33's but a stock width more or less, fits or wheels great.

I was looking at these

Im not trying to gain speed, i was just inquiring if that was the governor. I already have 2 speeding tickets under my belt that luckily have dropped off my record now that im 18, i dont need any more.

c-6 and 3.55 with 3500 is only going to do about 85 because the torque converter slips, a 4 speed truck might go a little faster, a 5 speed and 4.10 will go faster cause it has over drive

With my rpm limit i can hit around 120 if i wanted
