Okay so I installed my Hypermax Turbo kit and after relocating the entire glow plug harness I don't think the relay is working at all. I am very very poor with electrical things but I didn't un-wire anything, I just simply re-routed the wires. The only thing that changed was the ground... I have a feeling it may be ground related and may have fried my relay. That an my engine light is on and the cold idle solenoid won't de-energize so it's unplugged LOL . Any ideas out there?

I'll grab a picture but I don't think it will help much. The relay has been moved to the drivers side valve cover and I just grounded it to the intake manifold.... I am going to get some wire and ground it to an actual ground I think.... Is there a specific place these need to be grounded?

My black wire is grounded to a bolt on the back of the block. Have you tried grounding out the post with the white wire? Put a multi meter on the glow plug side of the controller and then ground out the post with the white wire. If you see 12 volts then your controller is still working.

Yeah, i am fairly certain it's a ground because other things are acting up. gonna run a ground wire to a proper ground. The truck wont start because it's cold and I dont dare use ether so its more motivation to get the relay working again!

Well if it turns out you did kill the relay, I'd recommend a western snow plow solenoid from plow parts direct. I replaced the gpr three times one winter on my f350 with ford gprs and finally bought the one from Plow Parts and have had zero problems in 5 years, it has a much higher duty cycle rating than the ford parts. Good luck getting glowing.

It's all good guys, it was just not grounded properly. The cold idle advance was always energized because the 2 leads on that sensor were touching, all good now!
