Glow plug harness overheating, Why.

When I start my 88 F250, the harness going into the controller smokes. This only lasts for about 8-10 seconds. All 8 glow plugs suddenly burned out a a couple of weeks ago, so I think this is all related.

Does this sound like a bad glow plug controller to you all, or would this be something more troublesom.

PS I posted the same question a week ago and the entire post just dissapeared. ***.

My guess would be that a glowplug fried and created a dead short to the block.

As for having all 8 fry at the same time? I'd go with the GP controller keeping them on too long.
