A buddy of mine asked me at church last night to go with him to a near by city and help him get a church bus running. You know about diesel's right so help me with this one? we spent about 5 hours trying to figure it out
95 PSD E350 shuttle. I don't want a van or a PSD!

Did you check the oil level? If a powerstroke is low on oil it will not start or it will stop running when the oil gets low. You can just fill it up on oil but then you need to know where the reset switch is.

So where's the reset switch? That's good info to know since I have a lot of buddies with PS's. I knew about the low oil pressure, but not the reset switch.

Evidently the DMax has the same thing. My friend ran his low on oil by accident. Put oil in, but it still wouldn't start. Took it to the Chevy house, they did something to it (unknown) and it started right up.

Not sure but I think You just have disconnect the battery and reconnect after a minute and that is it, ready to go.

PSD'S are not bad to work on, just need the right tools.
as for an oil reset switch there is no such thing.

I didn't think there was. Problem with PSD's, is there are so many things to keep them from running, and without a code puller, you could be in the dark. What did you do in those 5 hours besides look for melted wires?

Checked oil, fuses, fuel filter, shradder valve, even started to take valve covers off but ran out of daylight. I'm thinking HPOP or FPR? I've done some reading and need to find out how many miles are on the oil? The brain was changed a few months ago, seems it had water in it? (just like a PS water on the brain!)

PSD ain't bad to work on, just a learning curve just like any other engine. It's easier for me to work on my Superduty PSD than my IDI 90 dually was. Tons more room to work.

BTW....The early PSD vans had problems with the IDM getting water in them and there was a tech bullitin put out on it.

it wasn't too hard i just hate all the extra stuff to try and figure out. IDM mounted to the drivers fender? I wish I had you number with me, but i forgot to take it with? I'll be going back mid day tomorrow.
