Garrett TV6140 Turbo

If I had the chance to pick up a core Garrett TV6140 turbo cheap could it work on a 7.3 IDI at all? Or is it too massive to use on these engines? I'm not worried about fabrication and all that I'm just wondering if it can even spool up with this engine. Thanks.

I believe some sort of Isuzu motor in an excavator. That's what I have found online like an EX400?

I'll have to go measure. They look to be about the right size. Its hard to find specs on this turbo but I have found rebuild stuff on some weird sites.

Should be stamped somewhere. Look in the exhaust ports.

It's looking a lot like a holset hx35/40.
So size may not be real far off if you have a hot injector pump.

The exhaust housing looks to be a T6 foot, which means its very large (my waste-gated ATS uses a T3 mount, non gated turbo's use T4). Without knowing the exact details, it would probably be laggy. Its a goofy turbo as its off of industrial equipment, which means the exhaust housing will be large to accommodate the engine size, but the compressor side is small, because of constant rpm's/load.

Can the exhaust housing be swapped for a different one or should I pass on the whole idea?
