Did your fuel pickup snap off in your tank, effectively limiting your range? I filled up today so I figure I'd share me numbers to see how they fare. 535miles for a calculated 13.8mpg. Not too bad considering I drive it like I stole it.

Yes, both tanks are full.

Not too bad, I ran into a guy this weekend that was complaining that his 2004 Dodge/Cummins was only getting 14. Most IDI's can easily compete with that.

I got a driveline vibration between 60-70mph. It feels fine after that. There was some more left in her too.

Nice you survived the vibration and reached that lofty mph. When I'm "cruising" at 85 mph in double overdrive my crewcab is like glass. Just a slight wind noise. Engine is barely making any sound.

11.89 average here, with a best of 15.22. No OD so she does best on two lane blacktop 45-55 MPH. Actually seems to get better MPG around town than on the highway. ZF5 waiting to go in, maybe after I get the latest round of issues resolved.

I ran mine up to Payson, and back down to Phoenix; filled up in Phoenix before going, and then in Payson, then again in Phx. Avg on the way there, was 17, and the avg on the way back was 19. Going there, I kept my speed down, but on the way back, ran about 5mph over the speed limit, and actually got better. I guess I hit a powerband? On the way back I was around 2,300rpm according to the tach.

Overall, yes it was more down hill as it drops a couple thousand feet over the distance, but that road winds up, and down a lot, and for long stretches.

Last time I checked (which was a long time ago), my '91 IDI N/A, with E40D, got about 12.
My '98 Dodge, 5.9 24v, got about 20. I attributed that to more efficient fueling.
Both automatics with overdrive. Rears/tires close to same.
Is there that much difference between N/A and turbo'd engines?
Or is it more based on engine size? (444 vs 360)

Should have added - my Mack (the only time I ever checked it) gets about 6. :)
But it stays in the governor when it's on the road.

That's funny, I can't get my '83 past 72 mph on the GPS. LOL My throttle still isn't opening all the way, but I'm getting a good 15-16mpg with it floored all the time. This thing would be killer with an OD trans and lockup TC.

The usual response is a laugh and yeah sure buddy. But my 6.9 turbo easily got 20 riding on the highway empty.
I verified it and did the math a few times bc i was surprised myself.
That was 4.10 with 35s and a zf
Once I put a moose pump on it dropped.
