Fuel Filter

i need some help i am replacing my fuel filter for the first time on my 97 stroke and it is loose and rock wen on the cap wats the problem.also the beveled gasket is a bit big for the cap and i have another beveled gasket which te new filter did not provide a replacement thanks:confused:

Well a couple of things that I think I see in your pic. First, it looks like your filter is not rotated so that the red tabs snap into the black lid. May not be an issue for you. As the filter sits, out of the fuel bowl, it will move around. It's not that tight of a fit. Secondly, the gasket in the pic looks too small to go on the lid. I'm not sure where that one goes.

i have it reassembled now the small seal was betwen te cap and filter of the original fuel filter i was having a hard time with the tabs and after assembly the beveled washer would not seal to prevent leaks but i found a purolator setup for $2 more at advanced that comes with gasket and cap assembnled
