I’m wondering if my mpg’s are kind of normal. Around town I usually get around 12. Lots of stop and go. The truck has an ATS 088 turbo, 460 zf5, 3.55 gears, and 35 inch tires. What are some of you guys seeing
I think the 35’s and 3.55’s are what kill meI’m getting about 13.5. Worst I’ve seen is 11.7, best was 15.2. My rig has stock turbo(AR 82 Garrett t3 I believe), 4:10 gears, 4x4, zf5, 35x12.5 inch tires. Most of my driving is on the grades in the Sierras, so I don’t know how that compares to around town driving
Yeah, I’d like to try kerosene if I could even find a good place to get it. If I could get set up for cooking oil it’d be perfect because I work at a restaurant and have an endless supplyFrom what I’ve seen , our 4x4’s seem to be in the mid teens, while the 2x4 rigs are getting the high numbers. I did run kerosene in my fuel for an anti-gelling agent, and I think it gave me maybe 0.5-1 mpg higher than average. There are a lot of factors though that are hard to calculate with the type of driving my rig sees
Yeah for sureI got my kerosene at Walmart, it doesn’t take much. If you do try kerosene I would highly recommend adding a double dose of Marvel’s Mystery Oil with it. Im guessing you know that kerosene lacks the lubrication of diesel
I agree with this. Especially around town. It takes a lot more to get all of that rolling from a stop.I think the 35’s and 3.55’s are what kill me
Even when I drive extremely nice I don’t see much of a difference. I think I’d be better off with 3.73’s or 4.10’s. 3.73’s might be a little high stillI agree with this. Especially around town. It takes a lot more to get all of that rolling from a stop.
I agree. Now on the highway, your current setup would better unless you're driving though a lot of hills.Even when I drive extremely nice I don’t see much of a difference. I think I’d be better off with 3.73’s or 4.10’s. 3.73’s might be a little high still
