this sounds wierd, and feels wierd. When I turn the wheel sometimes I can feel something rub or thump against the passenger floorboard. Also If i am rolling slowly and play with the brakes (tap gently) I feel somethine very similar. The truck has slack in the steering, and drifts some at highway speeds (hitting a bump, or dip, maybe a swerve). I have never done any alignment or front end work, any Idea of what I am up against? Its an 85 f-350 crew, 2wd. thanks in advance for any help! John

how do the radius arm bushings look like? are they looking pretty sloppy?

Yep, sounds like radius arm bushings. Got one doing the same thing but is currently a lawn ornament. 
Pretty easy to change, just a PITA to get the front end broke down to change the bushings.

that was my thoughts exactly my radius arm bushings sounded the same way its not really that hard but dragging everuthing out your gonna need is a pain

Which manual do you guys think I should buy that would detail this procedure? Im used to the quality of the bentley (vws) Is there anything like that for these trucks? thanks alot for the info. I would like to go ahead and replace any "wear" items associated with the steering. I guess a manual would be very helpful in this.
