You want I should carve one from the dead oak in the back yard and get a couple castings made? With a turbo turned up it probably won't make as much difference as NA.

If we are going to go all out and make a 4 valve/cylinder head, I think it would be in our best interest to design to be direct injected ;Sweet

There was a company making spherical valve heads some years ago. Most likely those heads aren't as performance oriented towards idi as they would be for di. But just think about this, the rpm limit isn't restricted because of the valve train. I found the link http://www.coatesengine.com/

If these guys "could" make a set of heads foe the idi block it would need to be direct injection. No precups. Our bore is the same size as the pad bore is. Plus the pin size is the same at 33mm for our turbo type pistons. So, there it is. An idi block, psd pistons and direct injection. Add the Moose pump and then the Moose injecters and my thoughts are 400+ hp at the rear wheels. Now thats just a WAG on my part... Could be even more hp than that if you threw in grill gas... Water-****... And an intercooler cooling around 30 lbs of boost.....:D

I just don't think this would be a feasible project unless you are bored and have a lot of $$$$ and time to throw around.

The idi turbo rods are the same demensionally as the psd forged rods. The only differance is the psd rod big end is about 130 thousands wider so it wont fit our cranks. No, we couldn't machine or grind off that much rod and it stay together... Our rods are forged in both turbo and non turbo motor trim. My wonders are the diesel pressure going into a psd piston area and the 17 or 18 to 1 comp ratio. Would we make enough heat to fire off the motor. The psd motors compress the diesel from 20,000 to 32,000 lbs before its injucted directly into the chambers. We see about 2100 to 2200 lbs and our pumps can build up to about 5000 lbs. At 5000 lbs our pump wont last too long... Sadly too...

I don't really know what I'm talking about here, since I've never had experience with one, but someone had talked about taking the injection system from a DMax and using it on an IDI. The idea was that we could get DI pressures with a more "bolt on" type system.

Can anyone that knows about such things explain how that system works?

Ah OK Gary, for some reason I was thinking the IDI rods were a lot skinnier and weakerthan the PSD rods....... Musta been thinking of chebby rods LOL
