The good:
I bought the truck with a bad E40D about 5 years ago and swapped in the rebuilt 5-speed driveline from my last truck. It is a strong running engine and the driveline/4x4 works perfectly. Starts great at any temp, we saw around -10* last winter and it would start after one glow plug cycle without being plugged in. This truck has been my daily driver until the registration ran out this month.
The bad:
Rust. As is typical with these trucks in my area of the country (PA) the cab corners, cab mounts, and rad support are soft. I've replaced some spring hangers over the years and there is some rust on the suspension components. It is PA inspected til 6/15 and I don't know if it will pass without rust repair.
This truck is a great candidate for a cab swap, a good donor for a drivetrain swap into your vehicle, or a great farm truck.
More pics to follow tonight once I'm at my computer.
