With so little information supplied by you I'm guessing you need a flex plate for a C6 in a 6.9 diesel. If so Nappa has them and any really good trans shop will have them. Ford would be the most expensive but then again you get what you pay for in quality parts.

Yeah sorry for the information, its for my 85 250 6.9. The flex plate on it right now has like 3 or 4 of the teeth ripped off. I been trying to find one but couldnt find one anywhere, all I could find is the ring gear.

Replacing the ring gear is fairly easy, and inexpensive. Just heat the gear and freeze the flywheel, slip it on, do a few tack welds and you're good to go.

Depending on how bad it is, you can also heat up the ring gear and pound it off. Then you can flip it over and use the good teeth on the back side.

Also you'll probably notice that the teeth are worn in 3 locations. Your motor will stop in one of those three spots everytime. If you mark the plate before removing the ring gear you can reposition the teeth that are broken away from those 3 locations and you're good to go.

The gear can't be flipped over. The teeth have a bevel cut on the starter engagement side only. I thought I could also just flip it over too. I did clock the gear so I had good teeth in the 3 areas that the motor starts and stops on. That got me a few more years of use but it finally let go.....

Is the ring gear on the flywheel or on the flexplate? I may have what he needs. I have a C6 no one seems to want, worked when removed, I'm more than happy to part it out. PM me if interested I'll see if I have what you need.

The ring gear goes around both a flywheel and a flex plate. I have a c6 so Im looking for a C6. PM will be sent.

If you want a good C6 that runs for cheap, speak now. I'm headed across Ohio tonight and tomorrow. Flex plate and torque converter included.

since people here love pics, here's what the flexplate/flywheel/ring gear assy looks like for the C6 and the early E4DOA. The later E4DOA uses a flexplate that most people are more used to seeing.
the huge heavy portion is the ring gear/flywheel and the tin dish is the flexplate.

The above picture is what my 89 had before the BTS trans. Then I needed the newer plate to handle the larger converter BTS uses. BTW that thin plate is no longer made and I bought the last new one. Also on the newer plates you need a spacer that makes up the differance in the heavy cast iron wheel and the new thinner plates. That spacer is no longer made either so collect them when you can find them.. I sure had an issue with finding one because BTS made me one that was 250 thousands too thin and the flex plate bolts went thru the crank flange and bottomed out rolling the first thread. The new plate was not tight and the plate was engaged to the starter sooo.. Backing those bolts out without killing the crank flange threads was hell but I got it done with no real problems... I'm sure nobody will ever have these problems... Kinda funny looking back now on what has happened to my truck..
