I am hoping to put a bypass centrifuge oil filter in my truck, and the centrifuge will need to be able to send the filtered oil back to the engine at the lowest possible point.
[I know that Dieselcraft has a mini air compressor that lets you do the oil return higher up, but I want to keep mine gravity-draining.]
So- I want to take out the engine oil pan drain plug and install a hose fitting, with the same threads ( 1/2" x 20 ) in the oil drain hole.
The hose fitting will need to be a right-angle 90, and it will need to swivel in the pan (so that the threads stay tight but the part that goes to the hose can move freely.
I've read that the 1/2" x 20 is the same thread as the " AN 5 "fitting's threads- so [if that is correct] a swivel elbow with AN-5 fitting on one side, and some other fitting on the opposite end might work well. Unfortunately my searches with Google have not turned up am AN-5 swivel like what I am looking for-
I appreciate any suggestions, -including different ways to accomplish the same goal - as long as they still allow me to return oil down low into the pan drain hole.
Thanks very much for suggestions or links to places that might have or help with what I am looking for.
