Hello to all,

I have a problem with my fast idle solenoid. It wasn't working so I read on here about how to test it and adjust it, but it seems like it doesn't have enough force to push against the throttle. If I hold the throttle out of the way it will push out but with the throttle resting against it at idle, it won't push out. Is it time for a new one or is the throttle too stiff. It seems stiff when I push it with my hand. Any suggestions appreciated. Thanks!

It is working as intended. Sounds like your expecting it to automatically raise the throttle RPM. It doesn't work that way. You use your foot to set the high idle. The correct assumption, is that after you set it, it will hold it on high until the engine is warmed up, at which time it will return to normal idle.

I just found that the temp. switch is not connected. I will have to repair this before I can get the solenoid to work.
