Anyone ever rebuild one? I am finally getting around to doing mine after my D60 swap.

I have the u-joints and the "ball" rebuild kit. The problem is dust seal(for the ball kit) doesnt fit. Is there something i am missing? BTW it is an Advance #70081NG

***** OMG that's funny....Sorry Brad I just did one on the Bronco and ya...ujoints, and ball kit but NO freakin decent seal for it. Mine had a kind of seal around the base of the PIN. That seal ended up getting tossed too as it was ***** but it went up around the whole ball area so don't know if yours is similar or not...just saying that I could not get that seal no where no how locally at least...

One more thing...I found that if I just pressed the Ujoint caps into place but not set to depth...kept mine flush with the outside of the Yoke, it allowed me MORE wiggle room to get the CV together. I put the yoke end in the CV first and the I stuck the ujoint into the PIN end and then put that into the CV once it was all together I then pressed in the caps carefully making sure no pins slipped.

IT WAS A REAL SUM BEACH TOO....JM2CW

Thanks for the input guys.

I have been reading and some say the dust seal is not to important. But FORD didnt waste their money on one if it wasn't needed.

Napa sells the whole centering piece that the ball fits into, I just hope I dont have to spend the $60 on that.

This is what I have http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/we...t-Neapco_20270076-P_2074_R|GRPUCVSAMS_____BBV

And this is the way TEIRS goes together http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/we...e-Neapco_20270074-P_2073_R|GRPUCVSAMS_____BBV
But my dust seat goes on the outside of the centering yolk. Theirs goes inside

This is what mine looks like

Well I returned the Advanced Ball and seal since the seal didnt fit

Napa was able to get me the "centering Yolk" It comes with a new ball, seal, and spring. Wasn't cheap @ $57 but it did the trick. Put it all in the truck and realized, I cant grease one u-joint and the centering ball Have to pull it out tomorrow and grease it good

O the napa part

I've rebuilt a couple with the Napa (Precision) centering joint and had good luck with them. It also has a needle greaser zerk. Thats the only one I've used, but I would say that is the way to go.
