I found the drawing on one of the threads on this website, so I have what I need to make one, just would be easier as this will be the last IDI I overhaul as their run is over and I am considering them obsolete at this point. I had the machine shop put them in as I thought they would do a better job, after they machined the block, but there are several of them they I do not like the way they look. I have used the two hammer method on 3 other blocks and never had a problem, but thought since the overhaul this time was going to be a crazy amount of $10k, I would use the tool.Yes, you can make one, have one made. I'd be happy to send you the instructions, line drawing, to make one. If you'd like, message me with your request and an email address.
I am in Nebraska. Do you have someone that has made them before? I am not against buying one if you know someone that can do it. It appears you are in OR. I run a shop for a Fleet in here in the Midwest and we have trucks out there all the time... If you want to rent yours I would be interested in that also.I could probably have one made for you, or you can rent mine in a few weeks when I’m done with it.
Yes I have a shop here that made mine for 150$ it’s made of some thing slightly better than mild steel, can’t remember what. They said I could get more made in the future now that the hard part of drawing up the file is done. I can reach out to them if you are interested. I will say I have not used mine yet so I’m not sure how well it works.I am in Nebraska. Do you have someone that has made them before? I am not against buying one if you know someone that can do it.
