Every 7.3 I had used the positive type seals and it appears that was what on Darrin's motor that Ron took off.

I did some searching and ran across this article, it made for some interesting reading...

Nope, I sold the 89 Dually 4x4 yesterday, (sorry man) The one that Ron is working on, is still under wraps and will be for some time,....

Is she going to be able to give up all the creature comforts the '05 has to offer?

She likes her creature comforts, but would be happy with an IDI.. As long as it's an XLT... She don't crank windows!

Me post pictures... Surely you jest.... The umbrella seals for the exhaust are plastic and they attach up in the spring retainer... Not on the guides in the head like the intakes do. these motors have had three differant exhaust seals. The first seal leaked too much oil into the exhaust... The second seal was the positive type seal. It stopped all oil to the valve... That ruined the guide and some dropped valves... Finally the correct design came to be. Thats the umbrella seal. That works great

When I had my valve seals done, they had the umbrella type for the intake, and the rubber ones for the exhaust...something tells me that something doesn't sound right on my end

All I can say is that's the seal spec'ed and are victor Reinz seals. No other seal part number available for V/R or FelPro exhaust valve stem seals.

As Trav said, that's what came off it and are also the same as what's on a set of Heads that came off the Beef.
