hey guy,
Im sure this is posted somewhere in here, but I will ask anyways my 84 is stock and would like to get a little more out of it and can not afford a turbo was wondering if taking off stock exhaust removing muffler and all and running a straight 4 in out back if it would add any ponies or is it worth it. (I would definitely like it to be a little louder and sound more aggressive.)

My truck was straight piped with a single 3" stack right behind the slider window, and it really wasn't all that loud unless I went past 2200 rpms. I recently put the exhaust down like it was factory, only with a 3" straight pipe, and I like it more, but not really cause of the sound level, but mainly because I can now keep my slider window open without sucking in exhaust fumes (I had a big back-draft issue). I've been thinking of adding some sort of a muffler tho, for everyone else's sake, but I haven't found nothing cheap yet...
