Engine changes tone from 2100 to 2300 RPM

The truck in my sig changes tone from 2100 to 2300 RPM. This happens to be at 70 MPG, which sucks. It changes from the nice rumble I am used to a weird deeper tone, but it goes away just above 2300. Its kinda a weird drone. All I know it its annoying, and I really really want it to go away!!

Check to make sure your exhaust is not vibrating against anything.

It doesn't sound like the exhaust is hitting anything. I would imagine that would be allot worse at idle when the engine is shaking more. Also, I know that the exhaust is not touching anything because I just installed it.

The PO of my truck had the exhaust solid mounted to one of my running boards and at exactly 2000RPM it would make a deep tone much like you describe. After i added rubber mounts it went away. But oh well it was just a thought.
