Has anyone thought of using a butterfly valve/throttle plate on the intake opening to serve as an aid to engine braking? They really do make a difference in "hold back" going down grades with all the applications I have used them in. The B series Hino in my Landcruiser has one, they all did from the factory; and they hold back very well
. Better then any idi GM/Ford or cummins I have driven.
I would be a rather simple thing to rig up and even mass produce for anyone who has the time. It could sit on top of the inlet and the filter box on top of it. As long as it aint too tall of course so the box wouldn't need modification. And perhaps a cable from the IP throttle shaft to the butterfly valve.
Food for thought anyways.
