electric fuel pump conversion

That sounds like a good idea, if you're going to buy an expensive electric pump that can actually replace the stock mechanical pump. I'm too cheap to go that route, and I really don't like depending on electric stuff, so I bought a $50 electric pump and put it in the line between the mechanical fuel pump and the selector valve. It will push fuel through the mechanical pump to prime the lines, and it will let the mechanical pump suck fuel through it when it can't keep up.

Be aware that if the mechanical pump's diaphragm ruptures that electric pump will then pump fuel through the diaphragm into the crankcase. Which is why they should be on separate circuits!

If he put it after the mechanical pump, he wouldn't have a problem right? I think most of those click style fuel pumps can have fuel pushed through them.

It's plausible, just depends on the pump. Facet says "no" for the duralift but maybe other's are fine. Would be up to the manufacturer.

doing the bypass and check valve setup is the best way possible to avoid issues imho...

However most of the **** pushed aint a fix for a moco mech. Pump.
My holley red dropped 2# of boost,causing a retime..
BUT my fawcett sucked pulling grades, my moco pump is on reserve!

I wonder if that's because of the pump or the filter that's equipped on the duralift. I'm thinking if you can pull fuel through it, you should be able to push fuel through it.

Facet does have a positive shut-off or anti-siphon feature on some pumps, so one would have to look at their specific model to be sure.
