hi thanks for the info but seems most on this site don't know that there are successful users of the fox valley 160 adapter on an other website using the same technics I mentioned in my first post with a 100% satisfaction. I cant mention that website because of obvious reasons. I am glad to have the fox valley 160. I urge those interested in saving money search for the info as I did. I knew there had to be a way.

There is no reason you cannot mention another site here what so ever. We do mention other sites quite frequently actually.

That being said, whats the site?

Hope you found what you where looking for and personally so long as I have all the parts I need to time I don't care if it's pulse or luminosity.

One thing you should know, that for correct lumi timing you actually need to know the cetane of your fuel. Otherwise it's just a shot in the dark.

Clamp method has no requirements to know chemical composition of fuel.

Fox valley timing adapter instructions for all. Place the (included) probe in the no.1 glow plug (7.3/6.9 ford) and connect it to the control box (included). Using a digital timing light with tach and degrees, clamp the timing light to the fox valley control box wire loop. Start the already warm engine and set rpm to 1400 then set degree to 6. Using the timing light point it towards the harmonica balancer and line up the marks to TDC. Real simple to use. All US diesel fuel today are 40 fuel cetane minimal unless your fuel station has supreme fuel which most don't then the 6 degrees at 1400 rpm is your setting. I bought my fox valley meter 2 weeks ago for 70 bucks including mailing from eBay. It arrived today. Works greats. I bought my digital timing from advance auto for 90 bucks. Total 160 bucks and I'm in business.

Don't worry about the off set number, it's only used with other timing meter/ unites. By using the harmonica balancer your bypassing the need for off set.
