E-brake wiper black box?

So, this weekend I'm going to tear into the kick panel behind the E-brake, and check out this black box. What do they cost if I need to replace it? Is this a Ford stealership item, or can I get it at one of the parts stores?

To the best of my memory there is nothing behind the kick panel exept an access panel to clean out all the leaves and pine needles that have collected over the years. The little black box rests above the parking brake mechanism and gets the snot kicked out of itself if you don't use your foot to bring the pedal up when the parking brake is released. I have no idea if they are available new at this point but they were used in many applications. I think my old Jeep CJ7 had the same box. Probably get away cheap in a junk yard. Hope this helps.

Okay, I've been looking around, and I can't see any kind of black box up in there. I can't find my haynes manual on ford trucks, either.
Anyone got a pic?

I found mine more like behind the wiper and light switches. Think it was about 3" square and about 1.5" thick with 2 round connectors on the same side. HTH

I'd been having trouble with my wipers. They would sweep jerkily about three times and then just stop. If I turned the control to "off" and then "on" again they would sweep once or so and stop.

The only speed that did anything was high and none of the others (slow intermittent) worked at all. I tore into the motor and switch and the culprit was the ground wire that is attached to the wiper switch! Made a good connection and it works like new.

I didn't see a black box but I wasn't really looking for one either...

I fixed my wiper problem by removing the black box and soldering a loose piece on the printed wire board. Easy fix. Just follow the wire from the wiper switch, its just behind the switch.
