Hi all, been a very long time since I visited here. Have couple of questions for the experts. I have a 02 7.3 super duty. The thingy on the ceiling or what ever you call it, the info thing, has gone out. No temps, no milage,no nothing. I assume this is an expensive part or could it be just electrical? the "mode and other button light up, just nothing in the little screen. The second question is my headlights. I have a grill guard on the front and the body shop says they cannot adjust the lights with the laser because of the guard. They just manually adjusted them. I recently bought new bulbs, the sylvania silverlight bulbs. and I cannot see 30' down the road. I noticed that one of the headlight lens is very clear, while the other one has a cloudy look like something was splashed on it, it has etched the lens and it is on the outside. don't have a clue what it could have been, but how hard are these lens to replace and what do they cost or are their other options out there for me. also am looking to purchase the super duty grill guard which includes the front bumper and guard all together. My son has one on his truck, but does not remember the mfg. Thanks in advance all, Trisha:

I can't help with the electronic thing, but...

Headlights: you can aim them manually, I know the directions are in the manual on the older trucks, but I'm not sure about the newer trucks. As for the lens, you can get a kit at your local auto parts store or Wallmart/Meijer (it's basically just fine sand paper) to polish them up, I had to do it to my 92 and my dads 01.

As for the grill gaurd/bumper, there are multiple company's that make them, http://www.buckstop.biz/ford.html http://www.roadarmor.com/site/ http://www.ironbullbumpers.com/ http://www.reunel.com/ There are more, but these will get you started.

Good Luck

ON EDIT: Have you checked all your fuses?

it's called a 'lie-o-meter' and it's a common problem...
you have to take it off the roof, then open it up and re-solder a couple of joints that are notorious for coming loose.. I have to do it to mine; I'm waiting for the weather to warm up a bit.

The EverWear headlight kits are the best I've seen, but you can't find them just anywhere. Ever Wear has a laminate coating that goes on after you polish it out, makes them a lot 'crisper.' I used the 3M kit on the kids Jeep last fall. That seemed to work pretty good for what I paid for it..
