Dual 3"...wicked crackle..

well the scouts back from the exhaust shop. got 2-1/2 from the manifold to after the transfercase, then 3" through 2 18" silverline stainless straight through mufflers, dumping behind the rear tires through 4" tips. it's got a awsome mellow idle, and a good rumble when you give it a little, but if ya lay on it, it CRACKLES so loud i think it may break glass if i pull a hill towing . literally hurts your ears!! i'm hoping when everything "breaks in" it'll mellow out, everything is brand new. i'll post pics tomorrow and a video, it was soooo rainy and ugly out i couldn't get any nice pictures. i like the sound just wondering why it's crackling so loud.

Cuz it's an NA IDI lol mine runs 2 1/2 into a three inch y pipe, through a cherry bomb and out in front of the tire and it cracks loud to and raps out nicely.

I'm running a dynomax straight through muffler and it sounds great!! No more cackle here lol I hate that sound.

Mine would "crackle when pullin hard at high RPM too.Straight pipe & turbo.

That raspy sound is common on NA's with large diameter tubes. If you put something smaller like a Cherry Bomb on each bank, it will sound a lot better.

i put dual silverline mufflers to quiet the crackle!!

Kinda sounds like my truck. All 2 1/2" pipe, a worn out Glasspack Cherry Bomb, and a turnout pipe just before the back passenger side tire.

My video camera SUCKS at recording sound for some reason.

I can't wait to see what 4" stacks and a cherry bomb sound like

i just have a 3" pip from the y back to the rear of the truck, no muffler of any kind, and it's still quieter than 2 other trucks i have owned.
