Shame I have an early 6.9l with an un-reinforced block...OTOH, at $15, it might be worth it just to plug the hole and replace the rubber plug that's in there now...thank you for the link

That's the same ones you listed a month or two ago that were $30. I bought one for my new engine, haven't tried it yet.

Thank you again, Gary, for posting this ...the rubber plug I mentioned in my earlier post is about to pop out (OTOH, it's a miracle that it lasted this long...just shy of 10 years). Just ordered one...even at $30, it's not a bad price. Hopefully the truck will be roadworthy next week
