sounds a little on the steep side to me with not having the solid front axle and it dousent look like a prestine body. the blown headgasket makes me wonder if it isent cavitation......

I'd pass it up. Not running I'd give them 1000 if it was mint, and had a rebuildable turbo. plus, some of these "master mechanics" say, "oh, it's just a blown headgasket," when it is a hell of a lot worse. I've seen much nicer trucks (in the past) on SF craigslist for around the same price range. You could always find a bad engine/good body truck cheap, r&r your 6.9 & turbo, and drop them in. I assume you're loking for a standard or extended cab 4x4? auto or manual?

I had a truck I was trying to buy for the frame once... tree fell on it and water got in the engine, guy wanted similar $$$ he told me he had paid more for an engine core
