Its been my experience that the Dana 70 limited slips are MUCH better than the 10.25's. Any tips on making the 10.25 lock up a little better? Im sure mine could use new clutch packs. My old 70 limited slip worked awesome at 200k, this 10.25 is worthless.

If it's a track lock, they are non serviceable throw away junk. If it's a powerlock (don't know if Ford ever used them) it can be rebuilt. My Jeep has a track lock that is smoked, I'm fixin to weld the spiders.

I believe the axle in my brown truck is a Dana 70, as is the axle in my 83 Explorer with unknown gears in it. I also have another Dana 70 with a true locker in it that I built for my grandpas truck restoration.

I was told by the guy I have setup all the gears in my axles that he could rebuild the limited slip diff in a 10.25. Is he mistaken?

What I really want to do next with my brown truck is put an electric locking diff in the front axle. That would be so awesome!
