Diagnosis on water pump?

hey fellas what is a good way to make sure water pump is working correctly

Best way is to have a mech temp gauge and take it for a drive. Otherwise you’ll be looking for circulation in the rad with the engine running

If it's not overheating or leaking, all that's left to worry about is the bearings. Pull the belts off and try to wiggle the fan, if the fan moves around the bearings are shot, if it's solid then you're good to go. Here's a video showing what that play looks like, if your fan has movement like this then you've got a problem.

There is a slight possibility that the impeller could fall off of the shaft, but I feel like that's extremely unlikely.
