Yep. If you can swing it, a dedicated tow rig is always nice to have if you need to tow much.

I built a 10.25 for my 83. I went with 3.73 and a Detroit Truetrac. I’m very happy with the diff, gears are good for dd, but every time I hook to a trailer I wish I would’ve went 4.10. That’s on stock tires. 33s hands down 4.10

Towing an RV i have thought about 3.73s. I bought a 32 foot flagstaff on the north Carolina coast and brought it home about 750 miles. The truck pulled great between 22 and 2400 RPMs which was too fast for a trailer that long in 5th and too slow for 4th. I ended up running 60-65 in fourth most of the time. Beyond that was too high rpm in 4th and in 5th gear I needed to be 72-75. I think 3.73s would be great for that.
I have a 28 foot avion now that is lighter and its fine in 5th with 3.55s in most flat ground hauling around 2K rpm.
My previous posts referred to pulling backhoes, tractors, and other equipment. Work hauls seem happen more frequently than vacation ones.
