Custom Turbo 6.9?

Has anybody thrown a Powerstroke turbo on a 6.9, just how much boost can a 6.9 take before I have to worry about the head gaskets?

1) Yes, just use lots of duct tape.

2) As much as you can put it in.... how long it works for is another question.

There's a search function... it's not hard to use.

remember, the dukt tape is to wrap over the cylinder heads to the block to prevent head gasket failure!!!

theres a reason we call it 100 MPH tape

There is an exceedingly high rate of unwillingness to search...educate one self and then ask pertinent and worth while questions far too frequentpy.

I feel it stems from a fundamentle issue of entitlement and I want it now syndromne based on severap yearz of watching it.

Folks just do not want to take the time to research it they want it spoon fed....likely with a platinum plated diamond studded sil er spoon.

Search works....statements like I read here in this and that thread that nla bla voost is obtainable is that correct and if so is that a common level or one off.....this wouod generate far more help than

the fabrication required and the end results are not considered to be worthwhile by the majority.most feel a used idi turbo kit is a far superior way to go over using a 7.3l psd turbo.

We all including myself want to help folks...however a little research and self help goes a long long way.

Not justification....just fact.

For sake of point...

1st gen block prone to cracking or 2nd gen?

Is engine new or low miler 400K+ ?

Does it have an aftermarket cam?

Stock used head bolts or stock new ones?

Head studs?

Intercooled?

Decompressed?

Ceramic coated pistons?

How long is a piece of string????

Seriously way too many questions unanswered to be able to quantify the question with a reasonable and educated answer.

A 6.9 will hold as much boost as it can untill it cant hold any more and blows a gasket or something else fails.

Yes a ps turbo can be made to work.

There are 2 stupid answers that are 100% correct and factual yet provide no useful info ...

Ummm spoonfeeding, yep we can do that......
But just buy a kit .the fab work is a killer.
No one has hit the magic power formula to get cummins power off a stock block idi.
There is a custom idi build on some site with ludicrus # 's( never run of course).
